Configure Slack notifications

Turn standard GTM Engine product alerts on or off, choose recipients, and decide when to use Automations instead.

Use Settings → Integrations → Slack → Configure to manage standard Slack alerts for the product areas you administer. The settings page lives at /settings/chat/notifications, groups alerts by product area such as Sales Engine and Campaign Engine, and only shows notification events you have permission to control.

What You Can Configure

Each notification can be turned on or off and can send to one or more destinations:

  • Direct messages — sends to the default recipient for the event, such as the deal owner, importing user, admins, or internal meeting participants.
  • Owner + manager — available for Sales Engine deal alerts when managers should also be notified.
  • Selected Slack channels — posts to one or more searchable public or private Slack channels from the connected workspace.
  • Internal Slack Channel — available for opportunity-based Sales Engine alerts. GTM Engine reads the Slack channel stored on the opportunity at send time and posts there when the field is populated.

If an opportunity does not have an Internal Slack Channel value, that destination is skipped for that opportunity. Other configured destinations still receive the alert.

Slack alerts are sent as rich message cards with a plain-text fallback. Sales Engine deal alerts include the owner, account, opportunity, relevant date change, and an Open opportunity action. CSV import alerts link to the matching Batch History entry. Meeting prep alerts include a short AI-generated summary and link to the full activity page for the complete prep.

Use the Preview control on any notification row to see a sample Slack message before enabling or changing delivery targets. The preview uses example data; the real alert is populated from the triggering opportunity, campaign reply, meeting, or import batch.

Standard Alerts

Standard notification settings are best for common product events:

  • campaign replies
  • meeting prep readiness
  • deal movement out of the current quarter
  • AI forecast-date movement out of the current quarter
  • unhealthy deals
  • close-date reminders
  • CSV import completion

Personal Meeting Prep Preferences

Meeting prep notifications are controlled at two levels:

  • Admins can turn the standard Meeting prep ready alert on or off for the organization from the Slack integration card’s Configure action.
  • Individual users can mute their own one-hour-before meeting prep Slack DMs from Settings → Profile → Notification preferences or from the Home calendar widget settings menu.

When a user mutes meeting prep DMs, GTM Engine skips only that user as a Slack DM recipient. Other internal meeting participants and any configured channel destinations can still receive the alert.

Use Automations for Advanced Rules

If your role includes Automation access, the notification settings page links to Automation for rules that need more control than the standard toggles provide, including:

  • custom trigger conditions
  • filters by stage, amount, owner, team, account segment, or custom fields
  • custom Slack message text
  • branching logic
  • combining Slack notifications with CRM updates, tasks, emails, or enrichment

For step-by-step setup, see Send a Slack or email notification from a workflow.
